QARTA Architektura is a group of talented architects from Prague 8, Karlín, lead by Jiří Řezák and David Wittasska. In its large portfolio, all of the projects are connected by the emphasis on the interconnection of aesthetic and functional solutions. Well executed craftsmanship of detail and a funtional execution as a whole are important to them.
In a prestigious Prague 6 location, Ořechovka, the home to many famous vilas, a place with a unique genius loci, an original residential project according to the plan of QARTA Architektura, MAISON Ořechovka, is being created. It is another unique residential project of the companies Penta Real Estate and bpd development.
The original tram depot building at Smíchov was integrated in to the new development containing commercial and office areas. The building got an area resolution and in order to compensate the adjacent buildings, it grew horizontally. The area has developed from an industrial perifery in between the Vltava river with a harbor and railway with station into a full-fledged part of town. From the place in between the main traffic ways, a place to which people go for work and leisure, has been created.
A gym is a part of a city athletic stadium in Opava since the beginning of sixties. Based on the audit of the original building and all of the constructional shortcommings and mistakes, QARTA got a clear line for the new area for athletes, especially for their winter preparation. The original steel construction of the building was also transformed.
The QARTA architecture studio was also selected by the Czech branch of FERRARI Scuderia to design showrooms of this legendary brand in the Czech Republic. The work also included the interior design of the showroom with respect to the corporate tradition and identity of this famous brand.
